15 Minutes of Movement

It's been just about a month since I have last written. In the past month, I have seen no difference in my weight at all. However, I notice a difference in my body - my legs look slimmer, my arms have lost a lot of flab, my stomach is getting flatter.

One of the things I have added to my regime is at least 15 minutes of movement at least 5 times a week. It really has made a difference.

Mostly it means I take a 15 minute walk. Do you know how easy it is to walk for 15 minutes? It barely cuts into my busy schedule at all. Besides, it's nice to be outside, getting some sun. We all need more vitamin D3 than we get, and we can get it directly from the sun.

My favorite exercise is doing water aerobics in the pool. I have some concerns about the chlorine in the pool, but as long as I rinse off right away, I think I am mitigating most of the damage. The exercise, I believe, far outweighs the detriment of chlorine.

Usually when I get in the pool to do aerobics, I do more than 15 minutes, though. Once I am in the water, I don't want to get out. I need to plan it so I get in the pool when I have at least a half hour of time. Often, that means late at night, which is actually quite pleasant, but I don't get the benefits of sunlight.

I have a "noodle" that I use to do some of the more strenuous exercises in the deep end of the pool. I love my noodle!

I really believe it's the water aerobics, more than anything else, that is firming up my body.

Ultimately, the secret is to do ANYTHING that gets you moving - dancing to your favorite song, taking a walk, water aerobics, jumping on a rebounder. Anyone can do 15 minutes a day.
